The best part of my job is working for our TRiO Scholars and ensuring that they get the support and resources needed so that their education can transform their lives and communities. We have built a team that is committed and passionate about TRiO Scholars and providing top notch services to our students.

I am excited to bridge our TRiO Scholars to opportunity and success because I know the influences social equity programs like TRiO do for students. As an Upward Bound alumna, I experienced having the opportunity to access tons of great resources, community and personal development. I hope our program can offer students from marginalized backgrounds an opportunity to excel in higher education and a space for advocacy. As an East Oakland native, I also experienced many socioeconomic hardships but with the support of peer mentors, advisors and family, I rose above it and made it my goal to one day give back to my loving communities.

The holistic support the TRiO program provides helps equip students academically with motivation, encouragement and resources. Being able to provide support and assistance to our Staff, Peer Advisors as well as our TRiO students, is a true honor.

I am absolutely honored to be a part of the TRiO Scholars Program, where I have the opportunity to provide support to students in various facets of their academic, social, and personal lives. As a Peer Advisor, my primary goal is to foster a sense of inclusivity and connection among students from diverse backgrounds. I hope that as a transfer student and a first-generation college student, I can share my story and the valuable lessons I've learned along the way to inspire and motivate other students to embark on their own college journeys.

I’m excited for this amazing chance to engage with fellow scholars from diverse backgrounds to promote a community of success academically, personally, and professionally. As a first-generation, Latinx queer student I hope to connect with my peers and help ensure they receive any and all resources and support they may need. My goal is to assist and encourage students’ success in all of their endeavors as an undergraduate.

I am beyond honored and excited to support and celebrate all of our talented and driven TRiO students! Being a first-generation student and TRiO Upward Bound alumni has influenced my passion for educational equity and building community. You are all more than just students, and it is our diverse experiences and complex identities that make our program rich. I truly believe in TRiO’s holistic approach and hope to contribute in making a space where our scholars will feel seen, heard, and understood.

As a TRIO scholar, I was given a place of peace amongst the chaos. I am a first generation, female, African-American Engineering student. Everyday I go through trials and tribulations but I know that when I enter the TRiO lounge I will be greeted with smiles, entertaining conversations and I will not be judged. That is why I became a peer advisor. I want to provide another student with that experience of peace, I want to help provide a sense of community and a safe place for everyone who enters. I also want to provide students the tools, resources and support to achieve success at UC Davis and beyond.
