Are you the one who hates raising your hand in class, even when you know the answer? Do you prefer a few deep friendships over hanging with anyone and everyone? Does your ideal Friday night involve the words “Netflix” and “jammies”? Maybe you’ve always been encouraged to “put yourself out there,” or “stop being so shy.” If this sounds like you, then join your fellow introverts to learn about what it really means to be a “quiet one” in a world that chatters 24/7. You’ll learn about your brain’s physiology, the personality characteristics common to introverts, and how to hack your brain during those times when you need to act like an extrovert. Then, we’ll dive into strategies for getting the most out of your college experience while staying true to who you are.

Do you want to be a student leader and help other Aggies during your time at UC Davis? This Connection is designed to help first-year Aggies and transfer students learn how to navigate campus to promote change and improve the student experience. Group meetings will address themes such as finding resources/support, identifying and applying for leadership opportunities on campus, and how to create change as a college student. For select meetings, we will hear from student leaders on campus, as well as campus administrators.
Facilitator Daniel Castaneda will provide insights from his experience as a student leader at his undergrad institution, UC Riverside, and as the former Graduate Student Advisor to the Dean of Graduate Studies & the Chancellor. Anyone who is interested in student leadership (or who might be in the future!) is invited to be a part of this Connection.
