1st of Many Campaign
The #1stofMany advocacy initiative, spearheaded by the Educational Opportunity Program and the Center for Opportunity Scholar Success, provides support and community for first generation students. The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness about the first-generation student experience, celebrate their journeys and accomplishments and build a resource network so students feel they belong at UC Davis and are supported.
Student Development and Retention Reading Group
The SDR Reading Group is a collaborative space for scholar-practitioners from various campus centers, services, and programs in Student Life/Student Affairs and beyond to meet and engage with emerging research in the disciplines of college retention, student persistence, and student development. Our focus is to discuss how emerging research can inform both our praxis and scholarship as we support the success of the whole college student.
Student Success Coaching Training
A one-day campus training for faculty, staff, and graduate students is offered through Staff Development and Professional Services. This hands-on training covers coaching fundamentals and allows you to explore how to integrate coaching into your advising and student support practices.
Retention Spotlight
Join us to discuss retention initiatives and practices at UC Davis by attending a Retention Spotlight. This endeavor is a way to bring focus, raise awareness, and engage in discourse about retention. Talks are given by OEOES staff and other retention leaders on campus, with the aim to highlight best practices and share strategies, tools and resources that support student success.
